A "Murphy's Law" vacation

Shira's Shot, Aug. 10, 2015

The so-called Murphy's Law is that anything that can go wrong, will go wrong.

First, I got bronchitis.

Then, a couple of my teeth started to hurt, so off I went, bronchitis and all, to see my dentist, who told me that I would need to have:
~ one cracked filling replaced
~ one crown drilled out, whatever's bothering me underneath the crown repaired, and the crown replaced
~ one root canal and new crown

(It's too bad that Medicare doesn't cover dental bills.  I guess we're not going anywhere fancy any time soon.)

Then our son's laptop stopped functioning, and he had to order a new part.  (On the plus side, at least the broken part is repairable by a normal mortal--a rarity for laptops, I gather--so this out-of-warranty laptop doesn't need to be replaced.)

Then our dishwasher started leaking.

You call this a vacation?!

A photographic consolation prize for having read this
catalog of minor catastrophes:

On the fence--a little politics, maybe :)
